Last night Leon and I stayed in but Leon's cousin Marney came round with some cider and DVDs to watch. Both my parents called at the same time, one on the landline and one on the mobile, they seem to do that quite often. I made a chilli bean hotpot for supper from a recipe I made up and was very very delicious.
My lab work has been delayed today due to no helium so I will have to do it tomorrow. So I have set myself the task today of planning everything I need to do for my masters thesis. At the moment i'm just wasting time for lunch time when I think I will treat myself to some curly fries, yummmy.
I was waiting for the train this morning, the station I use is very small and is unmanned. A few minutes before my train was due there is one in the opposite direction. However, today instead of the guard coming out to watch passengers get on, two heavily armed police stepped out. I was quite in shock really, I know that in view of recent events there is a serious situation which needs serious attention but it was not what you would expect at a small North Wales station and to be honest, for me its not a sight i'm used to. There was no armed police on my train.

spicy bean hotpot
I'll gladly share my recipe cos beans are cool. I just put the ingredients in a saucepan, using onion, garlic, a tin of mixed beans, peppers, mushrooms (you could put in whatever you fancy), a tin of tomatoes, chilli powder and a splash of tabasco and cooked it on the hob for about 20 mins (I did'nt bother with frying the onions and garlic in olive oil because there's lots of cheese to go on the top). While the chilli is cooking slice potatoes make enough to cover your oven dish and bring to the boil and let them boil for about 5 mins. Drain the potatoes, transfer chilli to oven dish cover with the potatoe slices and sprinkle plenty of cheese. I cooked it in a medium oven for about an hour when the top was nicely browned and the potatoes had gone crispy and serve with some veg or a nice salad - fantastic supper.
